A new chapter for Sustainable Transport Midlands: Introducing Enroute

A new chapter for Sustainable Transport Midlands: Introducing Enroute
Blog

Today marks a significant milestone in the journey towards a more sustainable transport future, as we launch Enroute, a dynamic not-for-profit transport research group. Building upon the legacy of its predecessor, Sustainable Transport Midlands, we are now poised to drive positive change through impactful research, community support, and a visionary approach to sustainable transport.

We are guided by the expertise and passion of its Joint Chief Executives, Harry Burr and David Frankal. Harry, with his extensive experience in the transport sector, will oversee commercial management, communications strategy, and resourcing. David, a fervent advocate for sustainable transport, brings his research acumen to the forefront, leading the team in producing thought-provoking research pieces.

At the heart of our mission lies an unwavering commitment to advancing and enhancing Great Britain’s sustainable transport network. We fully recognise that a paradigm shift in how we invest in and use transport services is essential to address environmental challenges and create more liveable communities.

Our dedication extends beyond research, as evidenced by the introduction of Our Community Commitment. As a Community Interest Company, we pledge to regularly report on its social and community impact, ensuring that our actions align with the core values we have set out.

We inherit Sustainable Transport Midlands’ momentum in the Daventry Transport Development Group, born from the campaign to reopen Weedon station in Northamptonshire as Daventry Parkway.

“Enroute has committed to working with us to research and suggest improvements to the public transport network in the Daventry area, in the community’s best interest. We’re looking forward to continuing to work with the team.”

Phil Larratt, Cabinet Member for Environment, Transport, Highways, and Waste at West Northamptonshire Council

We are entirely volunteer-driven, inviting individuals passionate about sustainable transport to join as Transport Analysts or Transport Consultants. Whether contributing to ground-breaking research or launching community-focused programmes, we offer opportunities for dedicated individuals to make a meaningful impact.

As we embark on this new chapter, it brings with it a renewed sense of purpose and a commitment to shaping a more sustainable transport future for Great Britain. With our dedicated leadership team, unwavering commitment to research, and focus on community engagement, we are fully poised to make a significant impact on the lives of individuals and communities across the country.
